Lecture Tour
We should probably try and do the rounds.
There are a couple of Film Festivals etc we could try and do.
The BUKE Lot are confirmed at a few, and theres lots of big trips going on this summer!

Re: Lecture Tour
Any more thoughts on the lecture tour?
Going along with the media thing, how about this for a Press release to CF & CKUK?
This August 6 kayakers are heading out to explore the rainforest rivers of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan beaches are a well known destination for surfers and surf kayakers, but despite the countries white water potential there have only been a small handful of previous expeditions. This is largely due to a civil war which ended in 2009, but the majoriy of? Sri Lanka is now mostly stable and ready for exploration.
The team aims to explore the rivers of the mountain ranges in southern and central Sri Lanka, paddling some known sections and finding first descents. However a major part of their trip is to help to boost awareness of Sri Lanka as a tourist and particularly a kayaking destination by publicising their trip and leaving river guides for future kayakers via their website. The expedition has also teamed up with the local rafting company Borderlands, and coaching sessions have been planned to teach white water skills and safety techniques to local raft and kayakers. With a dam in the process of being build on Borderlands base river, it has been requested of the team to try and find an alternative river to base the companies operations from.
The teams ambition is to help leave a lasting kayaking scene in Sri Lanka.
Visit www.kayaksrilanka.co.uk to find out how
Dave Burne, Niamh Stack, Will Eldred, Nick Roberts, Tom Haywood and Sean Ziemh-Stephens get on with their expedition.
EDIT: What do you think about hte bits in Red? Needed? OR not? Should we point out that we are not completely naiive and unaware that some bad shit is still going down in the north?

Re: Lecture Tour
I would be inclined towards
"This is largely due to a civil war which ended in 2009, but the majoriy of Sri Lanka is now stable and ready for exploration. "

Re: Lecture Tour
A place to put down any copet=itions / flim festival type things we should enter.
And I'm also looking to people for ideas of a lecture tour? Just if you hear of any outdoor festivals that we could/should get involved in.
Cheers,
Dave
Some of these film fests are also looking for speakers.
These are just some websites and dates - if you can, find out more about submissions and dates for submissions / contacts for our tour.
