Insurance Companies
Finding cheap insurance companies is not an immediate requirement. Other things take priority.
However:

Stumbled across these completely by accident.
A quick check suggests they're not too expensive though.
Worth baring in mind.

Tagdirect (TGIC) http://www.tgic-online.com/ti/jsp/welcome.jsp?AccountID=0 is always recommended on here by canoe control - we've gone with them this year. They are a reasonable price for annual travel insurance and have a reasonable cover.
Dog tag has large excesses for extreme sports, (especially with their 'basic' package)
Snowcard appear to have good cover, but expensive.
PS sports - were adrenaline travel insurance. We were with them last year, but now they don't cover mountain biking on mountains - not sure about kayaking/climbing though.
