India!!! If you're looking for creeking in India in late September I think the Uttaranchal province has plenty to tackle. Here's a roster of what our group did (http://www.mondunsko.com/2009/12/first-descents-in-uttaranchal-india.html).

We had a shoulder dislocation so we ended up skipping out on the Rupin/Supin/Tons drainage. I reckon there's heaps of exploring to do up there... with some walk-ins though, I don't believe there are roads up all the rivers.

Do you know Scuba Steve? He was also in NZ, but he went to Uttaranchal in 2007 and might have some good beta for you as well.

What is your email address?? There is a document that's floated around with some good info on the runs in India... like a wiki-guidebook sort of. I'll send it your way.
