Eastern Europe

I know this isn't helping Will much with the Exped Board, BUT! ...it may save us an expensive trip somwhere if it looks good...maybe.
I've previously done a little bit of research into Bulgaria, and seem to remember the season would be best kind of Easter time.
Looking again at some online maps (briefly), Romania has some big mountains.
Chris Smith (Madagascar contact) also saw some potential.

Tom - recs you could do some research into rainfall and seasons.
Maybe email rafting company etc?

ha ha why not. You would think there will be some russians who have done some stuff so will have a look for some trip reports etc

Maybe to narrow down destinations for the Exped board just put 'Eastern Europe' (which depending on your view of Georgia includes Georgia)??

There are only a few places to practice and the level of water is unstable, too, that is why there are not so many people who do them.

- though this doesn't mean much. In the UK theres only a few rivers where you can do rafting....
