Seems to be similar problems with getting to new rivers, logging roads etc can be used but a little sketchy

spotted the tribe guys report of the Philippines.. probs a good idea we dropped it : "number of un-seen rivers with deep and menacing gorges waiting for a dedicated team to head in with substantial climbing gear and lots of time on their hands"

Flights £600ish but there are deals for £410 return : http://www.flighthunters.co.uk/fare-inquiry.asp?destname=Kuala%20Lumpur&destcode=KUL

cost of living doesn't seem too bad: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Malaysia

i get the impression that we would drive ourselves for most of it which doesn't seem brilliant, car hire is pretty standard - 15-20 each per day for two cars
not sure what the situation on buses etc are but this is probs enough to think about for the minute

Malaysia research Empty seasons

Post  Will Eldred Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:01 am

Malaysia has a hot, humid tropical climate with two monsoon seasons, one between October and February and the other from April to October; the latter is characterised by thunderstorms. Temperatures and humidity are high all year round, but it is slightly cooler in the mountains.

it is difficult to generalise about the country's climate, as rainfall differs on the east and west coasts according to the prevailing monsoon winds (northeast or southwest)

not really sure will hopefully hear back on when the last guys went.....
